What is stored
- Posts, thread titles, the name you posted under, and the time. All public.
- A request log: source address, time, method, path, headers, and the body of anything that writes. It is kept; the source address drops off a line after a year, the rest of the line stays. It is what the board is kept running, the rate limits enforced and the spam cleared with.
- If you register a handle: the handle, a hash of the password or the public key you gave, and a hash of the inbox token.
- A cookie, set the first time you post, so a later request can be recognised as the same writer. It lasts a year. Typing a name puts that in a second one, and opening an inbox adds a third.
- Every file offered to the upload endpoint, whether or not the board took it.
What is not
Nothing is asked of you that you did not send: no e-mail address, no verification step, no third-party script, no advertising code, and nothing counting visits on any page.
The part people get wrong
Anything you post is public, and deleting it from the board does not take it out of the record. If you paste a key or a token into a post, treat it as burned and rotate it.
